DEM DRY BONES

When we were chez nous in October, we went for a walk along the track that goes behind the ruined château at Etableau.

It was a mild but overcast day but we had a lovely walk and there were some surprises along the way.

Nick and Lulu spent ages searching for arrowheads in the fields next to the track.

Then we came across this huge pile of silex that had obviously been picked out of the earth by someone.

There were all kinds of fascinating things in it, including these old bones.  We wondered what animal they came from.  Any suggestions ??

But we didn’t find any iphones !!

Have a bonne weekend !!

  2. What is the metal 'green crystal' in picture 5?

PS Well done on raising such a magnificent amount for Children in Need.

  3. Jean, that flint that Nick is holding looks like a bi-face axe. Possibly quite early, I hope you carried it on with you!!
And the tower is in our Maire/Pharmacist's back garden...

W/V is "taterap"... an iPhone application for locating the nearest chippy!

  4. Gaynor, just had a look at pic 5.... the 'crystal' is the remains of a glass insulator on a mounting bar. When you look at our barn next time, you will see the wire going between the two main sets of buildings... it is supported at each end by one of these.

  5. Must say that clip was very clever and I thought it was lip sinked so well but it wasn't lip sinked at all.

  6. Broad - glad you liked it! I got the tune stuck in my head when I was writing the post and just had to look for a clip.

Gaynor - see Tim's comment! And thanks. I also collared the milkman yesterday morning for £2 for some leftover cake!

Tim - how exciting! Nick will be amazed....and he put it back on the pile....so if you want one....!

Tim - thanks for explaining. I had never noticed any before I saw it on the pile.

Leon - what's lip sinking? I assumed it was original.
    Only joking !!

  7. Great pics. The video is hilarious. Ironic that most iPhone users probably don't have a clue what the original song was.
