A DIFFERENT KIND OF ART FESTIVAL

Our art teacher, Charlotte Brown and sculptor friend Martin Looker, along with husband Paul and wife Denise, presented a festival of art last weekend.  The venue was at Charlotte’s own home, Les Viollières near Bossay-sur-Claise.  It was early on in the current spell of glorious fine weather and the sun shone for them all weekend.  The event was called "V Festival d'Art".

In the dining room where we attend Charlott's classes (and create our own masterpieces) there were place settings giving information about all the artists exhibiting.

The hare is Charlotte's own work, a common theme in her paintings and sculptures.

Martin creates sculptures from discarded items found around his house.

This piece of Martin's work resides permanently in Charlotte's dining room.

Another of Charlotte's hares welcomed visitors to the event.
The structure is part of an old garage filling station that Martin rescued.

One of the exhibitors created fabulous pieces of art from animal skins, displayed in the hall.

Another created gorgeous textiles.

More artwork was on display in one of the outbuildings.

This photo by Colin Dyson was taken in one of our favourite places, Montrésor.

This building is the original forge built several hundred years ago.

There were shady places to enjoy refreshments in the garden.

Beautiful work in glass displayed in the gite.

One of Charlotte's many paintings displayed in the hall.

You can read more about the festival here.
Congratulations to Charlotte and Paul, Martin and Denise for organising this fabulous event.

  1. It's a 'proper' event, so much o see. Must have taken so much thought and planning to organise.
